There is no point measuring F.R from the recording of a 'supposedly-flat' instrument doing scales e.g. piano, because it is anything but flat.
No, we must use an instrument mathematically pure and measurable, ideally sine waves, poduced not from a signal generator's output, but mathematically generated and produced by a computer, so that there is no air, or
acoustics/mechanical stuff to upset the levels or purity of the notes.
I have created a CD with several tracks of equal amplitude sine waves , and also frequency sweep 20-20khz, which would be a good tool to demostrate the
problem clearly and simply of most peoples hi-fis i.e. they are not full-range reference systems at all.
